Pace is a fully offline, on-device app for privately tracking your drinking. Your log is encrypted on your iPhone and does not leave it. There is nothing to sign into, and nothing is uploaded.
Nothing. Pace has no account system, no login, and no backend server. The entries you make — times, standard-drink counts, context, mood and notes — are stored only in the app's local database on your device.
Every entry is encrypted at rest using AES-GCM. The encryption key is a 256-bit key generated on your device and stored in the iOS Keychain, marked for this device only — it is never exported and never synced to iCloud or anywhere else. Plaintext (your times, counts, context, mood and notes) is never written to disk. You can add an optional Face ID or passcode lock in Settings.
Pace contains no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. We do not use cookies, device identifiers, or any tracking technology, and the app makes no network requests for your data. Its privacy manifest declares NSPrivacyTracking = false and zero collected data types. We cannot see how you use the app.
Health integration is optional and off until you turn it on. If you enable it, Pace can write the drinks you log to Apple Health and read your existing alcoholic-beverage entries so your log stays in sync. This happens entirely on your device through Apple's HealthKit. Pace never transmits Health data anywhere, never uses it for advertising, and never shares it. You control access in the Health app and can revoke it at any time.
Pace offers a single one-time purchase, "Pace Pro." There is no subscription. All payments are processed by Apple through the App Store. Pace never sees or stores your payment details; purchase status is validated on-device via Apple's StoreKit. See Apple's Privacy Policy for how Apple handles transactions.
If you enable reminders, Pace schedules a gentle local notification on your device. It is generated and delivered entirely on-device and is never sent through any server.
Pace does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children.
Pace is a private tracking tool, not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. If you are worried about your drinking, please speak with a doctor or a qualified support service.
If this policy changes, we will update the date above and post the revised version at this URL.
